This Seawind seaplane suffered a big keel ding on a recent trip to the Arctic in NE Canada.  The crew scored a sketchy and gusty Arctic Circle kiteboarding session on a remote lake.  Back in Newport the Dingshack repaired the plane and added an abrasion resistant kevlar strip to protect the keel during beachings.

Broken boards from hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene brought powerful surf and a good dose of anxiety to RI as we braced for a direct hit.  Fortunately the storm weakened and tracked west.  We made out with a few days of good swell before and after Irene hit and not too much damage.

There are plenty of broken and dinged boards at the Ding Shack from Irene getting fixed up for the next swell.  Hope you scored some good surf over the weekend!
